The Ohio HIDTA will continue to coordinate Federal, state, and local law enforcement activities to target DTOs involved in illegal drug production, transportation, and distribution.
The Ohio HIDTA operates out of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio which is a suburb of Cleveland. The 22 designated counties that comprise the Ohio HIDTA region are:
In Ohio: Adams, Butler, Cuyahoga, Fairfield, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Lorain, Lucas, Mahoning, Montgomery, Scioto, Stark, Summit, and Warren
In Kentucky: Boone, Campbell, and Kenton
In Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Beaver and Washington
The mission of the Ohio HIDTA is to reduce drug availability by creating intelligence-driven task forces aimed at eliminating or reducing drug trafficking and its harmful consequences through enhancing and helping to coordinate drug trafficking control efforts among Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. ~ Interim Executive Director - Eric Brown

SELECTIVE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES are provided to support HIDTA initiatives and law enforcement agencies within the HIDTA. These training classes contribute directly toward accomplishing the mission of countering drug trafficking operations. Timely, relevant training, enhances the knowledge, skills and performance of all participating Ohio HIDTA LE and support personnel. In 2014 Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office launched an initiative aimed at raising awareness about the heroin epidemic in Cuyahoga County, coordinating with television stations in Cleveland and elsewhere with the tagline “Let’s Face It”. In addition, a special Web site, LETSFACEHEROIN.COM, launched with information on the epidemic, personal stories from and tips for those touched by heroin. This site includes links to community resources.

Ohio HIDTA in partnership with Rocky Mountain HIDTA is pleased to announce that the Online Drug Unit Commanders Orientation Training is now available. The program has been beta tested, and the final version is ready for dissemination.
